I’m Officially a #Globie Fan!

Harlem Globetrotters 2013 Schedule

Yesterday, I shared a real treat with Jorryn, my dad, and my younger brother. We saw the Harlem Globetrotters! The game was SO much fun. Their energy level is incredible – and contagious! They had the stadium laughing from start to finish. It’s obvious that they have natural talent and a passion for what they do. Not only for the sport, but for making the audience enjoy themselves. It was also great that we got to watch a woman play with the team! Until yesterday, I had no idea women were on the team. I think that’s a great message for today’s girls that they can get out there and be just as successful as the boys!

This year, the game is interactive with the “You Write Your Rules” tour. Each quarter, you can vote on a special rule for that quarter like the 4-point shot or two balls in play! It was amazing to see the crazy stunts the team did! I cannot imagine the number of hours they spend practicing to be able to work together so well like that. They made everything they did look effortless! The audience was involved from start to finish, which is always fun and the kids seemed to get a kick out of.

It was also wonderful to have some quality time, relaxing and laughing with family, especially since my dad and I share a love of basketball. I also love that the first time my dad saw the Globetrotters in person, he was eight since Jorryn is eight right now!

These days, many families have to choose activities carefully based on price. The Globetrotters event had a range of ticket prices to fit every budget. I’m so pleased that Jorryn was able to experience seeing the Globetrotters and make those memories together! This is definitely one “splurge” that I would recommend to any family looking for a good time together.
